Southern Girl is a true story for a Myrtle Beach South Carolina’s grandmother, her neighbor and Naomi Judd. Elaine was about 27 yrs old and desperately dying of Diabetes complications. I met her in the summer of 1990. She was blind and had already had both feet amputated and would literally be peeling the skin off her fingers when she took the bandaids off.
